Richard Lee Couch, 83, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022. He was born on Sept. 7, 1938 in Charleston, WV to Sarah Leontine (Wyer) (1915-94) and Paul Michael Couch (1914-47). He attended Dunbar High School and married Rosalie Davis July 1961. Richard was drafted into the Army and served from 1961-1963 as a Private in Germany. He worked for FMC Corp (WV), B&W (Ohio) and Greater Lakes Chain (Ohio). He attended Gospel Hill Ministry in Warsaw, OH. Richard was a member of the Wagon Train, CB/Ham Radio Club, Canal Fulton Jaycees and served on the Olde Canal Days Committee.
He was preceded in death by and infant brother, Michael Nelson (1950); stepdad, Ralph Nelson (1914-91) and sister, Sheree Nelson (1956-2016). Richard is survived by his wife, Rosalie; daughter, Denise June (Steve) Ruthrauff; granddaughter, Stacy Talbot and great-grandchildren Stephen, Keaton and Ethan Talbot; grandson, Cole Ruthrauff; granddaughter, Essence (Seth) Agyemang; granddaughter, Maddy (Robbie) Ruthrauff; grandson, Lawrence Ruthrauff and great-granddaughter Niaomi Ruthrauff; sisters, Pat (John) Jarvis (WV), Susan Carroll Foster (WV), Gerri Hiderbrand (VA) and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A private burial will be held at Durham Cemetery in Elkview, WV at a later date. Richard will be buried with his grandparents Asa and Ada Wyer and beloved aunt Ginny.
