Just wanted to honor the memory of K8BOT Jim Palmer. (Beer on Top) as he would say. I worked with him as an electrician and I was honored to be buddied up with hi;m. we would talk about his remarkable ham experiences as . One time,he and I was elected to check the SWR of the Dupont construction teamsters two way radio. He was in the moon bugy lift by the antenna. I was at the transmitter,I remember keying the 50 watt fm transmitter while he was holding it, he let out a ::darn it” while he got a re burn. Also, as a electrician, we were trying to cut an out of reach ty-wrap. It was unassessable from out location. He came up the idea off putting a knife taped to a joint of 10 feet 3/4 conduit. It became known as “Palmar’s-knife on the stick trick”.
